Come join us for the International Big Sit. Millions of people around the world will be participating in this event and we will have a team here at Dinosaur Valley State Park. It will be from early morning until noon. You can come and go as you please, sit with us for an hour, or hang out the entire time with us. Participants will look and listen for birds with help from a park ranger as we all sit in a 17 foot circle under a tent. It is like a birding tailgate party. This is a great way to meet other birders, build up your bird list, and learn some birding tips.

Participants should bring their own chair, drinks, and snacks. If you do not have binoculars, don’t worry, we will lend you a pair for the day. We will be at the Blue Hole in front of the Park Store.

Note: Park programs are open to the public and free with park entrance fee ($7 per adult; children 12 and under are free). No need to register!

The Perkins' sextuplets who were born at Texas Children's Pavilion for Women in April 2012 headed to Kindergarten today!

Lauren Perkins reminisces ... "I spent so many hours dreaming about this day when they were babies and we were running on no sleep and feeding around the clock. Hard to believe it is actually here! But, they are ready. We're all excited to see what this next phase of our adventure holds."

I love that lake. I have caught and released a bunch of big bass there. I have also seen the eagles. They are beautiful.
