Austin vying to host U.S. Olympic Trials for the marathon

It would be pretty cool to see the trials held here in the ATX! Currently, Austin, Atlanta, Chattanooga and Orlando have made it known that they want the trials.

Houston hosted the trials in 2012 and more recently Los Angeles in 2016.

Maybe they would think different if they were ever in a situation where they needed a gun to defend their self!!! THINK ABOUT THAT KIDS!

Just because they are not old enough to vote does not mean teens and children are lesser individuals.

Before they demand stricter gun laws (whatever that may mean) I would like to know what they know about existing gun laws.

Here! Present!

Liberals using kids shame on you....

With you in spirit!

Which is it they want? Safer schools or more laws criminals will continue to not follow. It may be hard to consider but we can have safer schools without any new gun laws. If safer schools are the real issue then let's focus on the things that can be done that don't require a Constitutional amendment or take away God-given rights to non-criminals. The U.K. is seeking more strict knife laws, maybe if weapon is the only issue then we ought to as well?

Marvin says Maybe they ought to educate each other about the Constitution of this country (2nd amendment!)

❤️❤️❤️

#EnoughisEnough

How about a mandatory gun safety class for all kids and a class on the U.S. Constitution.

Of 74.6 million students in the US...206 thousand experience gun violence. 74million.... HAVEN'T.

This reminds me of the time they walked out to protest the tremendous number of murders in Chicago.

Guns should be distributed equally amongst the students each morning ~ NOT

Big cheers from people that can't do a thing toward, stopping gun violence!

I’m

I know people with gun collections bigger than this demo

This should give us all hope. Great generation! Thank you💕

SO very proud of these young leaders 👍

Come and take it

And the children shall lead them!

Parents who buy 10yo guns, shame on you

Can’t hear you

Blind sheep

Childish comments from gun toting nuts

My kid is in class, where he belongs.

It's open range if someone wanted to come and start shooting. They just wanted an excuse to get outta class. Get real! What's wrong with you people!

I just drove by and they are playing frisbee.

Conservatives educate ur kids about importance of the second amendment and their right to bear ARMD

They say they " don't feel safe in school" . Exactly what do they have for plans. They have NONE but, Complain complain complain

Robert Flood, agreed that everyone should join the NRA. And since the vast majority of Americans believe in sane gun policies, we could turn the NRA back into an organization that advocated for responsible gun ownership.

Everyone of them need to be suspended from school

Maybe I would be ok with this if they quit bullying other kids into going to the extent of wanting to go crazy on them

Anything to skip school lol

Why don’t they protest against Sanctuary city’s as in Austin Texas

Many children aren't at the march. Most of them walked home. We'll know more once the attendence records are released.

For safer schools put in the military? It’s a school. Not a prison.

They are behaving peacefully, respectfully, adults from both parties, both sides of this issue could learn something from them.

Good for these kids. You've got to stand for something, or you'll fall for anythang

Good for them and thank you teachers and volunteers who are with them. God please protect them all!❤️

Good for them ! Now let’s get them to vote em out !!!

They are doing what all people should do. Stand up and be counted

Why don't they do this to stop bullying??!!!

Proud of these kids. Hope they can bring some change.

I would also like to thank our police, first respondersand all of those present to maintain safety.

The prince of peace is marching with y’all!

My daughter is an incredible student and I am proud she is at the walkout. Most of these students are very motivated and will be successful, Intelligent adults who will change the world.

Go to school and be somebody...be a leader not a follower, but of course let's unite for the better...for everyone ...everyone!

Anyone calling these BRAVE kids pawns are embarrassingly ignorant.

Pure ignorance! Teach gun control and morality. A deranged person wanting to kill will find a way no matter the tool used. Give up your rights now and you will eventually lose them all!

Criminals do not follow laws. So please think about this logically. We do breed criminals. We sometimes don’t help by our own actions. Can we please all take responsibility of ourselves?

Who cares, you’re in TEXAS kids. We love guns here!!!!

Get to class and learn something or get dumb down

Now im sry but i believe that if these teachers believed they where makeing a difference then they would teach these kids not support them

So funny watching them make fools of themselves. They walk out for this, they can’t handle life outside their parents’ walls.

These students are pawns and looking for a way out if class

Proud of you all, stand tall, speak up, be safe and learn every day how to work together to make positive change in your lives!

This is not about the shootings it is about takeing our rights

This is such a mute point...

These students are the voice of patriotism

Crusty old white guys railed against those kids marching for civil rights or against the Vietnam war 50 years ago, nothing has changed.

Enough already. Be responsible for our culture, legislate common sense gun regulations.

Protest all you want, just remember,in America it’s money that matters. So start saving to lobby(payoff) your local lawmaker. Think I’m wrong? Ask the NRA

Keep speaking, keep walking, keep rising!

Get back to class and learn your history.... Don’t be political puppets for those who don’t care about your true welfare!!!!

that's my alma mater, so proud

Proud of you young people and future voters!

We all.children of god DONT FORGET It.

Go kids go see you at tthe capitol. proud of you

Didn’t these things happen during Obama’s administration?

Hardly want to walk out about something walk out about security... get schools funded for security and you might see things change. 1 resource officer is not enough.

So frightening to know these are the Future. Get your Stats Correct. So many sitting in protest will be the largest targets - WHY - No defense- peace, love, dove, yes throw that at a killer.
