The Lone Star State is the land of opportunity with a booming economy that empowers individuals and gives Texans the freedom to run their own lives. ... See MoreSee Less

Free to poison the environment, not pay workers properly and skirt Taxes.....all while having a system in place that doesn’t properly compensate injured workers.....I would say that you espouse toward a 3rd world economy.

Evidently empowering individuals and giving Texans the freedom to run their own lives does not extend to allowing women autonomy over their own reproductive health and decisions. Texas has the highest maternal death rate in the developed world. When your administration meaningfully addresses that, then you can tout your other accomplishments. 😠

Keep up the good work of keeping Texas Red.

Proud of all the Texas women voters marching across the state today! Looking forward to what we will accomplish on November 6 #BlueWave

That’s why I love living in Texas!!! Let’s kick all the libertards that are coming over here and are trying to turn our state into the crap they escaped from because they couldn’t afford to live there, thanks to the stupid politicians and their socialist, communist policies!!!!!!

Yes! I'm staying home today and celebrating all the freedoms and opportunities I have as a woman and I'm enjoying the extra money in my 401K thanks to the booming economy!!! #keeptexasred

Run their own lives unless you’re a woman

It also means 1 in 4 Texas children live in poverty, we have the highest uninsured rate in the country and a higher maternal mortality rate than anywhere else in the developed world. All that freedom...I guess for children to starve, mothers to die giving birth, and everyone to be sicker and die younger. Good job, y'all!

The only problem is Governor, you are bringing in Liberals! They are escaping the policies they voted for and oppressive taxation and will try to recreate in Texas!

"The freedom to run [our] own lives." That's rich, coming from someone hell-bent on disempowering progressive local governments.

Really? How about worker protection, education, health care for children, an end to wealth disparity, and a mother mortality rate that can rival a third rate country? Cause my people are FROM HERE, and that's what we want.

High poverty, highest number of uninsured bottom 7 in education, highest rate of women mortality rate. This is not a state to bring you woman and children.

Texas is a failure on so many levels. Takes a lot of gall to stand up and taut progress that flies in the face of facts... Facts such as education, health care, environment, you name it. Texas has been a failed state for the last 30 years. With the exception of having an excess of Rednecks -- who support ppl like you, Abbott.

All sound s very good, but he hasn't explained how he is going to fund the police and fire department and schools not to mention teachers. Please explain your process on these.

Love how Gregg Abbott has the nerve to bring up women when everything that they do in this government in regard to women is meant to stifle our rights. Yeah there is "less government" unless you want to decide what happens to and in your own body.

Texas is horrifically failing its medically complex children, Medicaid for the most complex children, special education, Medicaid waiver wait lists that are 14 years long, as well as their elderly population, their foster care children, and the 18 year olds aging out of foster care. There are corporations coming to Texas and the economy is great. The housing market is at record highs, it's all true. But we are judged by how we care for those which can't care for themselves. Our elderly, foster children, and medically complex children should be able to get the services they need. Medically complex children will ALWAYS be in danger under managed care. I have been in Texas my entire life. I have always been a proud Texan but we are NOT doing what's right for our most vulnerable populations. It's shameful.

Hang tight Governor Greg Abbott The real Texans support you, appreciate you, and know you are doing the very best for Texas...

So we keep corporate type of tax rates down and we have states and cities within states competing to give discounts to businesses to move in and we have high property tax rates so we can pay the bills for services we all use. Are we in effect just winning the race to the bottom?

Let me fix that for you - "...gives Texans who are male, white, straight, christian dominionists the the freedom to run their own lives. Everybody else can go straight to hell because they don't count". There! That's what you really meant to say!

Free to live our lives as long as it agrees with your draconian and backwards agenda. No thanks Gov. Abbott you need to go. We won’t be free until you’re gone and a progressive is in office ensuring freedom to all no matter race, creed, reproductive rights, healthcare, & education.

Yeah, freedom to neglect children, education, the mentally ill, the chronically ill and disabled, the homeless, mothers in need... should I go on? Being antisocial and narcissistic isn’t “freedom.” Lipstick on a pig.

Imagine how much better Texas would be if we had legislators willing to properly fund public education. Just imagine how much smarter our leaders would be. Imagine.

. . . with the exception of those Texans who have an unwanted pregnancy, are non-white, LGBTQ+, or want religion kept out of government. In which case step out of the car, please.

I don't agree. We already have too much business. Dallas is so packed with cars we can hardly get across town. I see nothing but apartment buildings going up everywhere. This is not living, to me. We have more than enough people in this state and we don't need more business.

I disagree, a republican is more likely be believe in hard work and not living off the Government. He might possibly be christian and if so he might want to do what the bible teaches that men are love their wives a Christ loves the Church and is will die for them! Not to shabby!

Texas is a hotbed for companies relocating to avoid taxes, destroy the environment, and pay sweat shop wages. Thanks, Abbott.

Because you're going to bribe them with millions of tax dollars, Greg?

I no longer shop on Amazon. Jeff Bezos is a greedy globalist who hates our country and hates our President.

Amazon is evil and they do not take care of employees. They will replace all their employees with robots as soon as possible so what's the point

I can see Austin....but DFW, no. Our very conservative political climate will scare them away.

As long as they don’t drag their totally liberal votes with them

I'm disappointed that our elected officials in San Antonio declined to participate in the selection process. I'm just glad that 2 other Texas cities are in consideration.

Because city's are offering stupid incentives for them to build here. Massive tax breaks etc etc..

Building outside of Austin would work. Inside the city doesn't have the infrastructure.

They are finalists because they are willing to sell out to Amazon and give over the top incentives. I was proud of our new mayor here in San Antonio. He said enough is enough, we made a good offer and they asked too much. Amazon wanted us to spend even more money to enlarge our airport. Of course they had already asked for tax exemptions so they don't pay taxes that pay for this. Some cities are going overboard. These companies don't want to be good corporate citizens.

Dallas' geography and being a midwest transport hub gives it a real advantage. Austin isn't handling it's current growth too well.

Argh! no, we have enough overdevelopment and crazy traffic! Also, plenty of jobs. Please locate in a State that truly needs jobs!

Yes ! Governor --i went to see with my Friend at Grapevine --amazon is building three of their office --took charge about --Whole Food . May be i'll see everything is big in TX --even heart --but --we may have to work little .

Because they are ultra liberal sanctuary cities!

A sad economy when we must bribe a company to build in our areas.

Just glad it was not near Houston.Austin is going to have to spend billions of dollars as that city is horrific concerning traffic.

How much are y'all gonna pay this company?

Landing Amazon in our state is no prize! They are one of the most corrupt, abusive. low paying companies in the US. They time their warehouse workers and if they don't move fast enough they are fired! THEY NEARLY WORK THEIR EMPLOYEES TO DEATH for low pay.

I love Texas and our Governor! Go Texas economy and get those awesome jobs for the working class, we will not complain. I see a lot of sore losers who are trolls on this sight. I am so sorry your little feelings are hurt. Lowest unemployment since when??? Apple bringing billions back to the Us. OMG ignorance is rampant. Go USA!

Sean Haughey the tax dollars that those companies save on taxes goes back into the community in the form of jobs.

Yep Dallas or Houston maybe. Other cities just don't have nearly as much infrastructure as those two here in Texas

I doubt they can cram anymore cars on Austins hwys.

I love Amazon. So glad they like Texas!

Bill Cardamon I'm guessing you're living on welfare and just too lazy to go get a job?

Cause Austin traffic isn't bad enough already.
