Read UT System Chancellor William H. McRaven's Jan. 22, 2018 statement on DACA below

As the date to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program approaches, I want to reiterate my support for the program. I, along with UT institution presidents, strongly believe in the benefits of DACA and encourage Congress to act quickly to continue the program. We also encourage DACA students to immediately take full advantage of the recent federal court decision to renew their status as the litigation proceeds through the federal judiciary.

Whatever the outcome of the litigation or the decision by the Congress, the UT System will always follow state and federal law and encourages our students to do the same.

We do not discuss the immigration status of our students nor do UT institutions track DACA status, because there is no educational purpose for identifying these students. In fact, the law allows and requires us to protect students’ private information, including immigration status.

For more than 15 years, Texas students who are not permanent residents but graduated from a Texas high school and meet other criteria have been eligible to pay in-state tuition rates, and we continue to support this benefit. About 3,500 students at UT System institutions accepted the offer in Fall 2016. Although the students who accepted in-state tuition are typically considered “undocumented,” we are not able to directly link those students to DACA status, because different criteria apply.

For more about my thoughts on DACA and its benefit to our state and our nation, please see the statement I issued in September 2017 when the Administration first announced its decision about DACA.

Braniff's operation of Big Orange at DAL should be credited for the development of *breakaway* stanchions for approach lights. Great memories.

Jaimedcardenas Jan 19, 10:06 AM EST I got to the kiosk at 7:07am the day of my flight and it said see counter. I checked in online at 630am on my cell and had nothing to check in. I wasn't allow a ticket that I paid for nor a refund because I was late to the person standards. if you look at the camera which I took a pic of tsa line was short and near. I still had 35 minutes to get into my flight. The guy next to had the same problem and we were treated as liars and no one said sorry. I recorded how rude they were to post on social media if nothing comes from my compliant. worst service and I have used your services. I talked another lady saying it has been within 24 can I get a refund and she said yes and ask if I'm doing for both. I ask to take a minute to check out other flights and came back to sorry we can't refund your flight. Took my money and refused to let me on. Cheap flights ain't always the smartest idea

My very first plane trip was on Braniff Airlines to Corpus Christi!! I was 12 years old!!!

I flew one of their last flights back to Dallas from Chicago on a stormy night in a well used bird. Overhead bins were just a shelf (not enclosed like real bins) and stuff was flying everywhere as we bounced around and it was a mess of a flight but we got home safe. Sort of how it ended for Braniff. 😞

First ever flight via Braniff - Gatwick to DFW 1979, fond memories of the Big Orange from a Brit !!

I flew the BN simulators at Braniff’s headquarters on midnight shifts. What a experience that was!

My mom worked many years for Braniff.. 6 of us flew to Hawaii and back in 1970 for $90!! But on the down side, her last paycheck bounced and she collected all of $92 retirement!! But she loved that job..

It’s amazing to see the progression of time and progress through the lens of the worlds most amazing airport. A true microcosm of this beautiful world!

The artist who designed the bright colors was named Alexander Calder.

Rio Airways had a lot of yellow planes at Braniff's gate 1. JB

The rainbow fleet

Yup, That was for sure a sad day for my father that worked down in the hole in the machine shop. He helped move them from Love to DFW and they went belly up.

Was Braniff’s short lived Concorde use the ramp as well?

Good for you Gary, to have something you enjoy after retirement! I'd be there too if I could do what you do. I didn't know the position even existed cause I've never seen anyone doing it. What do the letters ATS stand for?

Krystal Lauren Griffith I think I might.
