A reader says the streetcar project is as smart as blowing up your city hall to make room for a sports park that is costing millions to support.

Amfac. I used to be a ironworker, just out of high school, in the late 70's. I helped build the east hotel, and parking garage.

I remember that there was going to be a fundraising event to be held at the AA west hangars to watch the implosion of the Hyatt Regency West. This was the kick-off to the Terminal D project. Unfortunately, 9-11 happened, and an implosion "party" seemed very inappropriate.

A rare sighting from Founders' Plaza. ✈️👀

16-year-old avgeek Sam brought his custom-built, 13-pound LEGO American Airlines 737 to Founders' Plaza, where he watches planes come and go and can identify every single one.

Sam built his replica by looking at schematic drawings of an actual 737. It's complete with moving flaps, landing gear, rudder, engine components, doors, and emergency exits.

Gayla Dickey McPherson Colby is slacking! :)

I wish they could make the pieces aerodynamic and rounded so the plane looks realistic.
