There is good news for cheese lovers:

Researchers found that people who ate cheese daily had better heart health than people who abstained or ate it rarely.

Celebrate Chinese New Year – Year of the Dog

Festivities will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 in Union Cinema, Union Building East on UTEP Campus and is open to UTEP students, faculty, staff and the general public.

Activities include little Chinese lantern making, traditional Chinese dances, singing, traditional storytelling and a white snake legend drama show. Admission is free and open to public. Free parking available in Sun Bowl Parking Garage.

Historically, the Chinese have celebrated New Year’s Day according to the lunar calendar. Chinese New Year is one of the longest celebrated festivals in the world, and it is a tradition treasured by Chinese everywhere. This year, according to the Chinese Zodiac, is the year of the Dog. The Chinese Zodiac chart is based on a twelve-year cycle, each year in that cycle related to an animal sign.
